Born in Korea and
raised in Los Angeles, Andy began his exploration of Hatha Yoga when he
moved to San Francisco in the early 1990s. In 2001 he was introduced to
Shadow Yoga after moving to Portland. He was immediately captivated by
the depth of the practice and it's unique movements. Shortly after, he
met Zhander Remete and has since completed a three year teacher
training program. He continues to study intensely under Zhander and is
listed as one of the recommended teachers on the Shadow Yoga website.
In addition to his studies with Zhander Remete and Emma Balnaves, he has studied Jyotisha for a number of years with Margaret Mahan. He has taken numerous workshops and studied with many teachers in related subjects. He honors and bows down to those who have been his guide.
He has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2002 and takes joy in patiently teaching what he has learned. He has worked with a wide variety of groups and can skillfully accommodate people with different abilities. The majority of his teaching experience has been at the Yoga Shala of Portland where he was also a staff member of their Yoga Teacher Training program.
In November, 2009 he moved to the Bay Area to teach Shadow Yoga with Zhander's blessings. He looks forward to new adventures in the Bay.
